Ryan Garcia's promoter Oscar De La Hoya said that his client could next part of a megafight for his next clash, with De la Hoya naming WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney and WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson as potential opponents.
“As the promoter of Ryan Garcia, the next big fight will be with Devin Haney. Who wants to see him? Or against Shakur Stevenson,” De La Hoya wrote.
On the night of December 10, Haney defeated Regis Prograis by unanimous decision and took the title from him. This is the former undisputed lightweight champion's first win since moving up to the new division.
Garcia defeated Oscar Duarte in early December, knocking him out in the 8th round.
Shakur is the champion of the lightweight category. On November 17, he defeated Edwin De Los Santos to win the WBC title.
