Former coach of WBC heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), Ben Davison, commented on the upcoming fight of the Brit against the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).
"Yes, it's a massive, incredible fight. In terms of their characters, it's madness because they are so different, yet so similar. Even when it comes down to fight week, I'm intrigued by what both fighters will say and whether it will show us something about how each fighter might approach the fight. Many say that Tyson's size is the key to victory, but it's about whether he can use it. If he approaches the fight incorrectly, he'll struggle to leverage his dimensions. I think the misconception about Usyk is that he's some sort of fighter running around the ring, whereas in reality, he's very aggressive. The clinch will be an interesting situation because Usyk is very technically sound in the clinch, but with such a difference in dimensions, you just don't know how it will play out. Tyson is really very good in the clinch, and where Usyk may win in technical aspects, Fury has the size advantage. It will be interesting to see how the referee allows this to play out and if at all. Tyson is very versatile, so you can't be sure how he will approach the fight," said Davison. The fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
