David's Father Confirms Fight on Gervonta's Card

According to Boxing Scene, the bout between WBC lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) and Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) will headline a show on Amazon Prime Video with PPV, and the fight of Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) against the "interim" WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) will be the co-feature.

David’s father and coach, Jose Benavidez Sr., shared details about the upcoming fight against the Ukrainian on June 15.

"The plan is to fight on the undercard with Gervonta. It’s going to be a great card. It's a big honor for us to box on the same boxing night as him, Gervonta is also pleased. I think it will just bring in more viewers. It's an exciting night of fights, we are very excited. Everything is set, they will announce the venue in a few days," said Benavidez Sr.

The fights of Gervonta and Benavidez are broadcast on the same platform – Amazon Prime, which has been collaborating with the promotional company RVS since 2024.

David Benavidez last entered the ring in November against Demetrius Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs) and won after Demetrius’s corner refused to continue the fight. Oleksandr Gvozdyk's previous fight took place in September last year against Isaac Rodrigues (28-5, 22 KOs), where the Ukrainian won by knockout.

In April, Gervonta Davis knocked out Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) in the 7th round, and Frank Martin in July won by unanimous decision against Artem Arutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs).
