David Allen Considering Move to Bridgerweight Division

David Allen / Mark Robinson, Matchroom Boxing

British heavyweight David Allen has revealed that he is considering a move down in weight following his recent loss to Arslanbek Makhmudov.

“Yes, 16 stone (224 pounds or 101.6 kg — the bridgerweight limit) is possible. Yes, it would be tough, and I’d have to make weight.

But like for any fighter in any division, that’s part of the job. It would be difficult, but it’s definitely realistic for me,” said Allen.

In his bout against Makhmudov, David Allen weighed 117.5 kg (259 lbs).

The bridgerweight division, recognized by the WBA and WBC, sits between the heavyweight and cruiserweightclasses.
