Daniel Dubois on Joseph Parker: "He’ll Fight as Desperately as I Will"

IBF heavyweight titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) shared his thoughts on the upcoming bout against WBO interim champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs).

I’m not underestimating Parker. This fight is just as important to him as it is to me. He’ll fight as desperately as I will. Never underestimate your opponent. First, I’ll deal with him, and then we can move on to the next fight.

I feel like I’m ready to become a truly elite fighter and take part in the best matchups. My last four or five fights have been at the highest level, so why go backward? I need to keep climbing that mountain until I reach the stars. And the Moon. And the Universe!

Seek and destroy—that’s my approach. Go straight at him, but with the right preparation. He’s conquered peaks before, and now he’s a veteran. That’s why I need to go out there and utterly destroy him. Be better than him in every aspect.

They say you get better after winning a title fight. I want to test that theory. Now, I’ve got new superpowers. Something has definitely changed, and I want to keep winning and moving forward,” Dubois stated.

The fight between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker is set for February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
