IBF heavyweight titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) spoke about his upcoming fight against WBO interim champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs):
“Of course, this is exactly what I need. I don’t need easy tests right now. I need the strongest opponents to bring out the best in me, to get myself ready for the challenge.
Whatever Joseph Parker brings, I’ll be ready for it. I’ll be ready to put him to sleep. No underestimating, but I think I’ll be prepared. Whatever he does, I’ll do it better. Right now, I feel like I can run through these guys like a train. I just need to keep this momentum going. I’m on the rise.
Calling out Oleksandr Usyk for a rematch? Who knows what Usyk plans to do? He might even retire. Now my focus is on Parker. I definitely feel like I’ll go right through him. I’ll stop him and put him to sleep. I’ll do whatever it takes. Yes, I’ll knock him out. I’ll finish him in three rounds,” Dubois told BoxNation.
Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker will meet on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
