Former WBA Flyweight world champion, 38-year-old Ukrainian Artem Dalakian, spoke about his plans for 2026. He does not plan to retire and is ready to return to fights.
“I am not tired of boxing yet. My body is not tired of these loads yet. I have a good mood and no injuries. I need one or two months, and I will be in shape. I will be fully ready to box for the title of world champion.
In 2026, I want to open a boxing gym in Los Angeles and a boxing gym in Kyiv. It will be a sort of bridge — guys will gain experience in Kyiv, build up a rating, and then I would take them to America. I would make them good fights with good purses.
In the gym in Los Angeles there must be a flag of Ukraine. I will be our representative there. I am an ambassador of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine and am ready to wait for our Ukrainian boxers there. This is my goal,” said Dalakian.
Dalakian (22-1, 15 KOs) has not entered the ring since 2024, when he lost by judges' decision to Seigo Akui. This was the first defeat in his career. By the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainian left the top 15 of the WBA rating, however, he retains ambitions to regain the title.
