The legal team of WBA super welterweight champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) requested an additional 10 days from the WBO to reach an agreement for a fight with WBC and WBO titleholder Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) in the same division.
On August 28, the WBO ordered both sides to begin negotiations for the bout and initially gave them 30 days to reach a deal before purse bids would be announced.
It’s reported that Fundora’s promoter, Samson Lewkowicz, agreed to the extension. The teams now have until October 10 to finalize the agreement.
Sebastian Fundora last fought in March against Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs), winning by split decision. In August, Terence Crawford moved up a division and defeated Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs) by unanimous decision.
