Terence Crawford's (40-0, 31 KOs) coach, Brian McIntyre, has shot down talks about a potential matchup of his fighter against Chris Eubank, as well as David Benavidez and Jaime Munguia.
– The Eubank and Crawford fight is fake news. I don't know who even wrote that. Someone blurted out that it could be Eubank. But we stay in the gym. Whatever it is, he'll be ready for it.
I'm still in touch with Eubank. When I was headed to Vegas, he came to the gym. He just told me he doesn't have a fight; he's waiting for a date. As soon as he gets a date, he'll give me a call. If such a fight ever comes up, we'll just sit down and talk about it. You never know in advance.
– There were also reports that Crawford was offered Jermell Charlo, Erickson Lubin, and Jaron Ennis. One of them.
– I doubt that. In general, I'm skeptical. I haven't heard about it.
– Is there a dollar amount for which you would take a fight with David Benavidez?
– No. Why the hell do we need him? Why? For what possible reason?
– Is there a sum for which you would fight Jaime Munguia?
– For what? Why the hell do we need to deal with that crap? He says he wants to fight Canelo. That's what he's looking at. Obviously, he's looking for someone he can beat, McIntyre stated.
Crawford last fought in the summer of 2023, securing a knockout victory against Errol Spence. Since then, Terence has not been in the ring and does not have an opponent lined up for the near future.
