Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs), the first two-time undisputed world champion in the four-belt era, discussed the potential for unifying titles in a third weight class for himself—middleweight (up to 69,85 kg).
"It's not a priority, but it's feasible.
You have to consider whether two titles will potentially be at stake in this fight. If [Sebastian] Fundora does not fight me afterwards, then I'll be the champion according to the WBO and WBA.
If he does fight me, then three titles will be at stake. And only one more title would need to be won. So, potentially two to three fights – and there you have an undisputed champion," said Crawford.
Terence's first fight in the new category is scheduled for August 3. His opponent will be WBA middleweight champion Israel Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs). Also at stake will be the interim WBO title in the same category, and full champion Sebastian Fundora will be obligated to meet the winner by December.
