Alexander Krassyuk, head of K2 Promotions and CBDO of Ready To Fight, discussed the financial aspects of the training camps for Ukrainian heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles.
- Usually, for important championship fights, sparring partners are paid about $1,000 per week, and they're provided with free accommodation, food, and flights. Everyone wanted to join the Klitschko brothers' training camp to gain experience sparring with division leaders and to earn some money. Is it the same with Usyk’s camp now?
- It's hard to find a heavyweight willing to take hits for a thousand dollars these days. Those figures have increased significantly. However, getting into Usyk's or Klitschko's camp is primarily sought not for the money but for the invaluable experience that money can't buy.
- How much does the training camp cost now? What was the cost when Alexander was preparing for his fights with Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois?
- It's hundreds of thousands of dollars, - said Krassyuk.
Usyk's next fight, scheduled for May 18, will be against Tyson Fury, with the status of the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world at stake.
