Conceicao Knocks Out Ortiz

35-year-old Brazilian super featherweight boxer Robson Conceicao (18-2-1, 9 KOs) achieved an early victory over 25-year-old Mexican Jose Ivan Guardo Ortiz (15-2-1, 5 KOs) in an eight-round contest.

The fight ended with a technical knockout in the 7th round. Conceicao counterattacked with a body shot that sent Ortiz to the canvas, although he managed to get up. Robson then pressed on, securing a second knockdown and an early win after a few seconds. This is Conceicao's first victory since 2022. Since then, he has lost to Shakur Stevenson, had a bout with Nicolas Polaco declared a no contest, and fought to a draw with Emanuel Navarrete.

The last time Conceicao won by stoppage was in 2021. Ortiz faced his first defeat in 2023, came back with a knockout win, and then met Conceicao.
