Clarke Reveals Injury Sustained in Wardley Fight

Heavyweight boxer Frazer Clarke has discussed the nature of his injury sustained during the bout against Fabio Wardley. On October 12, Wardley knocked out Clarke in the first round.

I have two fractures in my jaw. Recovery will take from eight to twelve weeks. They told me that the surgery went exactly as they wanted, and that my jaw will even be stronger than before.

It was a harsh reminder that if you switch off for even a second, especially in heavyweight boxing, this can happen. I had to learn a tough lesson. My team did a fantastic job; it was my mistake, and it came at a price,” said Clarke.

Frazer also spoke about his return to the ring.

The fighter in me knows that I will come back. It will be a tough journey, but I will work hard, as always, and strive for those heights again. I’m 33 years old, but I’m in my prime. I felt strong that night, but it was just a great shot from Fabio and poor defense on my part,” said Clarke.
