Ukrainian welterweight (up to 66.7 kg) and Ready To Fight ambassador Karen Chukhadzhian revealed in an exclusive interview with RTFight what he would change in a rematch against IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis.
- Let's imagine you have everything: a full camp, quality sparring partners, and an understanding of what you'll face in the ring.
What would you offer Ennis in a rematch that he didn't see in the first fight?
- Punches (laughs).
- Do you mean that you should have been more active in boxing?
- Yes, I should have been more active in the attack. I never managed to find my jab in the fight. I couldn't find the keys for good attacks.
He's very fast. Not only is he a counterpuncher, but he also counters your counterattack. And that was a problem as well.
He lives up to his hype. He's a really great boxer. But I think I can box better with him. And I'll prove it when I get the chance.
Chukhadzhian and Ennis met at the beginning of 2023. The American won by decision, and most fans noted that the fight against the Ukrainian was the toughest in Jaron's career.
The champion's next fight will be on July 13th against Cody Crowley. Chukhadzhian will box on May 17th against British fighter Garry Skerff for the IBF title contender spot.
