Former world champion Chris Eubank Sr. has voiced his concern over his son Chris Eubank Jr. once again cutting weight for his upcoming rematch with Conor Benn.

“I look back and start to calculate. The damage Chris Eubank Jr. has already taken will start to show in three or four years.

My question is — what will the price be? What will be the price for the participants of this sport? That’s what this is really about — this isn’t a game.

For Chris to drop back down to middleweight at 36 years old — that’s madness. We’ve said it before: when a fighter cuts weight, that’s when the real danger begins — when the body is dehydrated.

For three years I’ve been saying this fight shouldn’t happen, because the weight classes were chosen incorrectly. I don’t want to keep repeating myself — you’ll see. The consequences will come. Dehydration is dangerous,” Eubank Sr. said.

The Eubank Jr. vs. Benn rematch will take place on November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

In their first encounter, Eubank Jr. won by unanimous decision. At that time, his father publicly opposed the bout due to the weight cut and even stopped speaking to his son during that period.
