41-year-old British heavyweight Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) has revealed that he is no longer interested in a farewell fight against PFL champion Francis Ngannou (0-2).
"I think the 'Choo-Choo' train has passed. The hype around our fight is gone. Let’s put it this way—Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou is the same as Canelo Alvarez vs. Jake Paul."
"You get it? So I feel like Francis Ngannou’s success in boxing didn’t turn out the way he expected. Our fight won’t work," Chisora stated.
Back in January, Chisora had expressed interest in facing Ngannou in Africa for his 50th and final fight.
On February 8, Chisora defeated Otto Wallin by unanimous decision, while Ngannou’s last boxing appearance was in March against Anthony Joshua, where he was knocked out in the second round.
