Chisora Claims Fury Cut Won't Heal Until May

British heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs) suggests that Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) won't have enough time to recover for the rescheduled showdown against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs):

"Listen, that cut is quite deep, but you know what? It happens. So, they've postponed the fight, and then it all starts again. You can't step into the ring with such an injury, and there are just two weeks left until the fight.

Now, we have a big fight to look forward to – AJ against Ngannou, that's great. Tyson will need to be careful for the cut to heal. You can't do anything about it. You can keep doing the same things, but no sparring. I think there's a chance that Fury's wound might reopen on May 18.

Right now, the winner's reward goes to Usyk because all he has to do is target the same eye, and the referee will have to stop the fight.

Make the fight AJ-Usyk. Let's be honest; Fury's cut won't heal by May 18. Any slight movement of the skin, and it will open up and start bleeding," said Chisora.

Derek has faced both Usyk and Fury, losing to both, especially to Tyson multiple times. The Usyk vs. Fury fight was postponed to May 18 due to the cut Fury sustained during sparring.
