On February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) knocked out Martin Bakole (21-2, 16 KOs) in the second round.
After the fight, British heavyweight Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) visited Parker’s locker room to congratulate the New Zealander on his victory. During their conversation, the two fighters wasted no time in agreeing to a third bout.
– Who’s next for you? – Parker asked.
– You, – Chisora replied.
– Me?
– Yeah. You want to do it?
– Tottenham Stadium. Let’s go, yeah, – Parker suggested.
– Okay. Cool, – Chisora agreed.
Chisora and Parker have already fought twice in Manchester in 2021. Parker won both encounters—first by a split decision in May and then by a unanimous decision in December.
