41-year-old British heavyweight Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) opened up about his emotional state before stepping into the ring against Otto Wallin (27-3, 15 KOs).
"I won’t lie—it was very, very emotional. Before leaving the hotel for this fight, I promised myself I wouldn’t cry. But as I walked through the corridors and saw pictures of myself, I just broke down in tears.
It’s emotional and sad because I truly love this sport. I just started crying like a kid. Damn it! I adore boxing—the highs, the lows, even the cuts and bruises I have right now. I love all of it," said Chisora.
On February 8, Derek Chisora secured a unanimous decision victory over Otto Wallin.
