British boxer Derek Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs) believes that the fight between former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) and heavyweight boxer (up to 90.7 kg) and YouTuber Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) will only attract children as an audience.
"How old is Jake Paul? A guy who's 24 fighting someone who's, damn, 57. What kind of joke is that? You think I'd pay to see that?
Who's going to spend money to watch that? Only kids. Parents will give money to their kids to watch it. Great for them, but I really don't know. It's not for me, not my thing at all. Leave the legends alone.
And moreover, Mike Tyson will be stoned like a sheep. He smokes weed every day. Stop it. This is what boxing has come to. Everyone's working hard, young fighters are coming up, but now they can't get recognition for their skills.
Meanwhile, anyone can get recognition by playing a video game, showing it on YouTube, and staging fights – then suddenly you're fighting one of the greatest fighters and selling out an arena for no reason.
They used to say — it makes no sense and you can't make a dollar from it. But now they're making dollars from it. We're in a damn wrong era," said Chisora.
The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is scheduled for July 20 in Arlington, USA, and will be broadcast on Netflix.
