It’s official — Vasile Chebotari (18–0, 9 KOs), an unbeaten prospect from Moldova, will challenge for his first career title on June 7 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He’ll face Colombian puncher Alexander Moreno (8–2, 6 KOs) for the WBC Youth super welterweight (154 lbs / 69.9 kg) world title.
The bout will take place at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv and will be broadcast on Kyivstar TV.
Chebotari is coming off an 8th-round TKO win over Milan Ganoșcă in March. Moreno last fought in February, stopping Segundo Herrera via second-round TKO.
This marks a key step up in Chebotari’s career as he looks to claim his first belt and remain undefeated.
