Charr: «In the Rematch, Fury Must Fight at His Weight»

The "Regular" WBA heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Mahmoud Charr (34-4, 20 KOs) shared his opinion on the fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

«The right guy won that night because Usyk won the last 4-5 rounds. I saw the ninth round where he knocked Fury down – that's already a plus two points. Theoretically, the fight could have been stopped, but I know Fury. He will come back stronger. In the rematch, he needs to come in at his weight because his legs were thin again.

He needs to become who he is again – a heavyweight. This is Tyson Fury's story. He always comes back stronger. Everyone wants to see a rematch between Fury and Usyk. As a world champion, I want to see their fight again. In the first 6-7 rounds, Fury did a great job, showing his skills, but Usyk was pressing from the first round. In the last five rounds, that pressure was too much for Fury. That's why Usyk took the fight,» said Charr.

The fight between Usyk and Fury lasted all 12 rounds and ended with a split decision victory for the Ukrainian. Oleksandr Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
