Former world champion Jermell Charlo, 35, dropped a strong hint on Instagram Stories about a possible clash with ex-champion Errol Spence, also 35.
First, Jermell posted a short line of text:
“There are no friends in this industry,” wrote Charlo.
Then he followed it up with an image — a lion clamping down on a shark.
Spence’s nickname is “The Big Fish,” a moniker opponents have played with more than once. For instance, Terence Crawford made his ring walk for their fight wearing fishing-net gear.
Jermell (35-2-1, 19 KOs) hasn’t fought since 2023, when he lost a decision to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Spence also last fought in 2023, suffering the first defeat of his career — a ninth-round TKO against Terence Crawford.
