WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (62–2–2, 39 KOs) shared his thoughts on a potential showdown against WBA junior middleweight champion (up to 69.85 kg) Terence Crawford (41–0, 31 KOs).
“There’s always a chance. We’ll see, we’ll see, but a chance is always there. We’re here to make the best deals,” Canelo stated.
Alvarez last stepped into the ring in September, defeating Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision. The most likely next opponent for the Mexican star is IBF super middleweight champion William Scull.
In August, Terence Crawford moved up in weight and scored a unanimous decision victory over Israil Madrimov, capturing the WBA title in the process.
