On May 25 in Leeds, UK, a rematch took place between former undisputed junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs) and Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs).
The fight ended with Catterall’s victory by unanimous decision. The judges' scores were 117-111, 116-113, and 117-111.
In their first bout on February 26, 2022, Taylor defeated Catterall by split decision. This was Josh’s first and only defense of his undisputed world champion status – he subsequently lost 3 of the 4 titles, and the last remaining WBO belt he lost to Teofimo Lopez.
This was Catterall’s first fight in 2024. Last year, Jack fought Darragh Foley and Jorge Linares, winning both bouts by unanimous decision.
