Britain's own Jack Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) is set to trade leather with America's unbeaten Richardson Hitchins (17-0, 7 KOs) in a bantamweight title clash. The IBFs threw their hat in the ring, sanctioning this up-to-63.5 kg showdown, reports Boxing Scene.
Both fighters have given the nod to the IBF's game plan. Jack's sitting pretty at No. 2 in the IBF charts, while Richardson's not far behind at No. 4. This tussle's got Matchroom Boxing's banner all over it. The victor? They get a crack at IBF bantamweight kingpin Subriel Matias.
Catterall's last dance in the ring saw him outfox Jorge Linares for a unanimous decision win in October. Hitchins, on his end, put Jose Zepeda on the back foot in September. Matias? He's on a hot streak, making his last five rivals throw in the towel. Since 2020, nobody's lasted past nine rounds against him.
