On the night of May 26, Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) defeated former undisputed junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs) by unanimous decision in their rematch.
At the post-fight press conference, the victor shared his future plans and expressed his desire to fight for titles.
«Of course, a trilogy with Taylor would be interesting for me. I want a shot at a title fight, to win a championship belt, and maybe after that, have a third fight with Josh. But I’m open to all options.
I held the WBO Intercontinental title, defended it about 10 times to become the #1 contender for the WBO title. That means something to me. Haney, Matias, Teofimo – each fight with them would be great. There’s a lot of sense in each of these matchups. I’ll be happy to fight for any of the championship titles,» said Catterall.
Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) is the WBC champion, Subriel Matias (20-1, 20 KOs) holds the IBF title, and Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs) has the WBO belt in the junior welterweight division.
