Official: Date Confirmed for Canelo vs. Crawford

Shortly after Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) retained his undisputed super middleweight crown with a unanimous decision win over William Scull, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh officially announced the Mexican champion’s next bout.

Canelo will face Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), the two-time undisputed champion, in a historic clash set for September 12 in Las Vegas.

The bout will be contested for the undisputed super middleweight title. If victorious, Crawford would become the first male fighter in boxing history to become undisputed in three separate weight classes.
