Canelo Signs Four-Fight Deal with Riyadh Season – No Fight with Jake Paul

Canelo Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs), the reigning WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion, has officially signed a four-fight contract with Riyadh Season, putting an end to any speculation about a potential fight with Jake Paul.

The announcement was made by Turki Alalshikh, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, who shared the news on social media:

"Don’t joke with the lion… 4 fights for Canelo with Riyadh Season… The deal is done… The lion does not lose sleep over the opinion of a sheep… Fear the lion, not the jungle."

Canelo’s Fight Roadmap

Alalshikh later posted a video revealing details of the plan:

– First Fight – May 2025 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

Canelo will make his Riyadh Season debut in May, with potential opponents including Jermall Charlo or Bruno Surace, the Italian who recently shocked Jaime Munguia.

– Second Fight – September 2025 (Las Vegas, USA)

This is expected to be the highly anticipated mega-fight against Terence Crawford, set to take place in Las Vegas as part of Riyadh Season’s global expansion.

– Third Fight – February 2026 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

Canelo’s next battle is slated for early 2026, with potential matchups including a rematch against Dmitry Bivol, as well as fights against Hamzah Sheeraz or Chris Eubank Jr.

– Fourth Fight – October 2026 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

This will be Canelo’s grand finale in Riyadh Season, with the opponent and details to be announced later.

No Fight with Jake Paul

Despite previous rumors, Canelo will not be fighting influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul in May. Instead, his focus remains on elite-level competition, with a roadmap filled with top-tier opponents.

Earlier reports suggested that the Canelo vs. Crawford fight was in jeopardy, but with this new deal locked in, boxing fans are set for a historic run of fights featuring the Mexican superstar.
