"Will Never Get the Fight." Canelo on Ward's Critique

In an interview with K.O. Artist Sports, the undisputed super middleweight (up to 76,2 kg) champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) responded to criticism from former boxer Andre Ward.

– Andre Ward criticized you, saying, "Look at his record, some of the guys were older, he avoided people," but you know, Andre Ward has a few questionable decisions in his record. What was your reaction to that?

– I can't say anything about him, he can say whatever he wants. Maybe he wants a fight with me, but he will never get it. Maybe he wants a paycheck.

– Do you think it's just jealousy or something like that?

– What else? I've never met him, never talked to him, and never said anything about him. What else?

The fight between Canelo and Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs) is set for May 4th in Las Vegas, USA.
