In the Ring of Choices: Derevyanchenko Leans Towards Canelo Over Benavidez!

Sergiy Derevyanchenko, the Ukrainian pugilist in the super middleweight division (up to 76.2 kg) with a record of 14-5 and 10 KOs, recently dished out his thoughts on Saul Alvarez and David Benavidez. He pondered who might emerge victorious in a hypothetical ring dance and who he'd rather square off with:

Super Middleweight showdowns are the stuff of fan dreams. If Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez were to duke it out, who's your pick to win?

That's one heck of a query. Right now, Benavidez is on a roll. He confidently took down Demetrius Andrade and looked like a bulldozer in the ring. It's like he was in a league of his own.

It's a coin toss regarding which of the two I'd prefer to tango with. But if I had to place my bets, Benavides would be my choice.

Do you think this dream match will ever materialize?

I'd lean towards yes. Al Haymon's got them both under his wing. Given that Canelo's got a couple of fights left on his contract, my gut says they'll each have a warm-up bout before crashing into each other for a big-money brawl.

With both fighters under one promotional roof, they're in a prime spot for a blockbuster deal.

So, who would you rather step into the ring with - Canelo or Benavides?

If I had to pick my poison, I'd go with Canelo. He's not a giant like Benavides.

Benavides towers over many, and while he might not look like a powerhouse at first glance, his ring presence is aggressively commanding and powerful, - Derevyanchenko shared in his interview with the National League of Professional Boxing of Ukraine.
