Super middleweight undisputed champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) commented on Ryan Garcia's (25-1, 20 KOs) failed drug test.
"First, we need to calm down and let him speak. Then we can discuss it. I don't know what happened to him. I don't really know what's going on, so I don't have much to say right now. Yes, this news surprised me because I know Ryan. I don't think he would do such a thing," said Canelo.
Yesterday, on May 2nd, it was revealed that American junior welterweight (up to 63.5 kg) Ryan Garcia failed drug tests taken before his fight against WBC champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs).
The fight took place on the night of April 21st, in which Ryan defeated Haney. Despite the loss, Devin remains the WBC champion, as Ryan didn't meet the weight limit and wasn't eligible for the title.
