What’s Next?
Canelo’s primary goal is to secure a rematch against Dmitry Bivol, should Bivol win his bout against Artur Beterbiev. However, other options, such as a fight against Terence Crawford or a showdown with David Benavidez, are also on the table.
These matchups could take place at super middleweight, a division more comfortable for Canelo than light heavyweight. Nevertheless, the Bivol rematch seems to be a personal mission for Álvarez, and under the right conditions, this could indeed be his next fight.
As for Berlanga, despite the loss, he proved to be a serious contender. He occasionally managed to keep Canelo at bay with his jab, held up under pressure, and attempted to counter. This defeat may have raised Berlanga's standing, establishing him as a more respected fighter than before the match.
