“Over 41 million viewers around the world watched Canelo–Crawford on Netflix, making it the most popular men’s championship boxing match of this century,” the statement read.
For comparison, in November 2024, the bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was watched live by 60 million households globally, peaking at 65 million viewers. The co-main event, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano for the undisputed Super Lightweight title, was viewed by nearly 50 million households worldwide.
On the night of September 14, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs) by unanimous decision to become the first fighter in the four-belt era to hold undisputed championships in three different weight divisions.
