On September 14, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA, WBA, WBC, and WBO super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) will face off against Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs).
After a friendly press conference on Monday in New York, all respect vanished on Tuesday in Los Angeles when Canelo and Berlanga exchanged profanities, and security had to step in between the boxers.
– You hit like my son, Alvarez joked – You won't show me anything I haven't seen before.
– You'll see it, freak, Berlanga retorted.
– Eight rounds – mark my words. I will have no sympathy. Bastards like you motivate me. I don't want to hit you right now, so you don't lose your money.
I like it when an opponent irritates me. When someone gets on my nerves, I make them pay in full.
