“I Agree with Turki”: Canelo on ‘Tom-and-Jerry’ Bouts

Undisputed Super-Middleweight champion Saúl Álvarez (63-2-2, 39 KO) has thrown his support behind Turki Alalsheikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, who declared he no longer wants to see “Tom and Jerry-style fights, where one boxer just runs while the other gives chase.”

“I agree with Turki Alalsheikh. Fans want good fights. People come and spend their money to see a big event, and if the opponent just runs and refuses to put on a show—well, that’s disappointing. We talked about it after the bout with Skall. It’s really sad.

Crawford? We’re expecting a great fight, the fight of the century, right? I’m going to win that one,” said Álvarez.
