Can Munguia Neutralize Canelo's Power?

On May 4th in Las Vegas, USA, Mexican super middleweight (up to 76,2 kg) absolute champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) will defend his status against compatriot Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs).

Former IBF champion and Canelo opponent, Caleb Plant (22-2, 13 KOs), shared his thoughts on the match and attempted to predict the winner.

"I see Canelo’s hand being raised. I think he will stop Munguia. Jaime gets hit a lot. He's been rocked by people not on this level. So that's my prediction.

Can Munguia win if he sets the pace and neutralizes Canelo's power? Maybe. I don’t know. I can’t imagine the fight unfolding that way. In any case, it’s going to be an exciting fight. I don’t think it will go the distance, and that’s what fans love," said Plant.

Caleb Plant and Canelo Alvarez met in November 2021. The fight ended with a victory for the Mexican by technical knockout in the 11th round.
