Caleb Plant Talks About Canelo Rematch

Former super middleweight world champion (up to 76.2 kg) Caleb Plant (22-2, 13 KOs) discussed the possibility of a rematch against current WBA, WBC, and WBO titleholder in the same division, Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs).

"With the WBA interim title at stake (in the fight with McCumby), and regular champion David Morrell moving up to light heavyweight, there’s a big chance that the winner of our fight will be elevated to WBA regular champion.

Canelo holds the WBA world champion title. So, if everything goes as planned, it would put me in a strong position. Right now, all my focus is on the task at hand (the fight with Trevor McCumby)," Plant said.

The first fight between Saúl Álvarez and Caleb Plant took place in November 2021, with Canelo winning by an 11th-round technical knockout.

Both Canelo and Plant will fight on the same card in Las Vegas, USA, on September 14, with Canelo facing Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) and Plant taking on Trevor McCumby (28-0, 21 KOs).
