"Eastern Europeans Are Tough." Caldwell on Bohachuk vs. Ortiz Fight

British trainer Dave Caldwell, who has prepared Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte for their fights, exclusively gave his prediction for the interim world title bout in the super welterweight division between Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk and American Vergil Ortiz.

"This Saturday, there will be a big fight between Vergil Ortiz and Serhii Bohachuk. Bohachuk is a big Ukrainian puncher, the interim WBC super welterweight champion.

We remember Vergil Ortiz as a great welterweight prospect. Then he had some health issues for a few years, but since returning, he's had two perfect fights.

Bohachuk is quite a tall boxer with a strong, solid back. Eastern European boxers are quite tough, so I think this will give Vergil Ortiz opportunities to hit him with the left hook or possibly a double left cross.

Vergil likes to combine his punches, as does Bohachuk, but Ortiz is a bit more compact. Serhii can be wide and rough with his punches. So, I'm predicting a stoppage in favor of Ortiz. Possibly starting from the 8th round," Caldwell said.

Serhii Bohachuk and Vergil Ortiz will face off on August 10 in Las Vegas, USA. The full WBC super welterweight title is held by Sebastian Fundora.
