Cacace Knocks Out Cordina

On May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a bout took place between British IBF super featherweight champion (up to 58.9 kg) Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs) and Irish IBO titleholder Anthony Cacace (22-1, 7 KOs).

The fight ended with Cacace’s early victory in the 8th round – after a prolonged attack by the Irishman, the referee stopped the bout. TKO 8. Anthony became the IBF and IBO super featherweight champion.

In November last year, Cordina defeated American Edward Vazquez (16-2, 3 KOs) by majority decision. Cacace, in May of the same year, won a unanimous decision against Poland's Damian Wrzesinski (27-3-2, 7 KOs).
