Berinchyk commented on the upcoming match against Mendy

Ukrainian WBO International lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk (16-0, 9 KOs) commented on the upcoming match against French EBU title holder Ivan Mendy (47-5-1, 22 KOs).

"In March, I had to stop boxing and join a team of volunteers who helped our troops and people in hot spots. We were very close to the front in many places."

"It was not so easy to return to the gym after all this, but I understood that Ukrainians need all kinds of victories, so I cannot miss the opportunity to raise the Ukrainian flag in the European ring."

We will remind you that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Berinchyk was in the ranks of the territorial defense. The 34-year-old Ukrainian last fought in December 2021, when he defeated the Russian Isa Chaniev by unanimous decision of the judges.

The fight between Berinchik and Mendy will take place on the undercard of the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora. The match will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3.
