Caleb Plant was defeated by David Benavidez, a victory that allowed him to defend his title as the "interim" WBC second middleweight champion in a unanimous decision. The match took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as the night's main event.
Although Benavidez started in a defensive position, he gradually gained an advantage and rightfully emerged as the winner with all judges scoring in his favor (115-113, 116-112, and 117-111).
Prior to this fight, Benavidez secured the "interim" world champion title in the second middleweight according to the WBC after defeating David Lemieux by technical knockout.
It's worth noting that Benavidez previously held the world champion title after defeating Anthony Dirrell. However, he lost the WBC belt when he failed to make weight before his fight against Roamer Alexis Angulo.
