Tyson was supposed to fight with the British Anthony Joshua, but the parties were unable to agree on terms and sign a contract for the fight. Fury's side claims that AJ's promoter, Eddie Hearn, is to blame for the collapse of the match.

Tyson's father John Fury said that his son is considering three candidates to replace Joshua: Filip Hrgovic, Andy Ruiz, and Luis Ortiz.

In the last fight, Chisora ​​defeated Kubrat Pulev and won the vacant WBA International belt. The title of full WBA champion belongs to Oleksandr Usyk.
