Buatsi Defeats Hutchinson by Decision, Becomes Interim WBO Champion

On September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, a bout for the interim WBO light heavyweight title (up to 79.4 kg) took place between Joshua Buatsi (19-0, 13 KOs) and Willy Hutchinson (18-2, 13 KOs). Hutchinson was knocked down in both the 6th and 9th rounds.

The fight went the full distance and ended with Buatsi winning by a split decision. Judges’ scorecards: 115-110 (Buatsi), 112-113 (Hutchinson), and 117-108 (Buatsi).
