British Coach: "There's No Boxer Better Than Usyk"

In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, British coach Mark Tibbs commented on the upcoming absolute heavyweight championship bout (over 90.7 kg) between WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). Tibbs also mentioned that Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) could give Usyk a run for his money after improving his standing following a victory over Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs).

"If Anthony Joshua boxes like that against Oleksandr Usyk, the fight could be different because of size and power. Instead of trying to do some fancy stuff with Oleksandr Usyk.

There's no boxer better than Usyk. So what do you do? Use your size and power advantage. It can and should be a completely different story. But he's lost to him twice.

Now, Tyson Fury. He's a phenomenal boxer. Strength with size will give him an advantage over Oleksandr Usyk, in my opinion.

Tyson Fury is a very good boxer. He literally gets into people's heads before they even get to the weigh-in. I'm not sure if he can do that with Oleksandr Usyk. And the question is, can he do it with Anthony Joshua.

If Anthony Joshua fights the way he fought, he'll probably be very dangerous against Tyson Fury. But as I said, I believe Tyson and Oleksandr Usyk are great boxers. Joshua was a world champion and an Olympic gold medalist.

He's getting back to where he once belonged and elevating our beloved sport," said Tibbs.

On March 8, Anthony Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou in the second round.

The bout for the absolute world championship between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
