Former two-division world champion and current ESPN boxing analyst Timothy Bradley has voiced his concerns about a potential showdown between WBA super welterweight champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) and WBA, WBC, WBO super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs).
“What scares me about the fight with Canelo — he’s relentless.
He’s not going to back down, and that’s what worries me in this matchup.
You don’t want to trade with a bull like that.
I know you’re strong, but this guy has natural power and he’s been fighting at that weight for a long time.
He’s adapted. You haven’t.
You don’t want to get into exchanges with this man, no matter how the fight is playing out,” Bradley said in an interview with Fighthype.
Canelo Álvarez is set to fight for the undisputed super middleweight title on May 3 against William Scull.
If both Canelo and Crawford emerge victorious in their upcoming bouts, their superfight is likely to happen in September.
