Expert Suggests Opponent for Gervonta That “Everyone Wants to See”

Former world champion, Hall of Fame fighter, and ESPN analyst Tim Bradley shared his thoughts on a potential matchup between WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) and Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs).

“This is Tank's protection program. It’s been going on for a while, folks. They keep bringing in fighters from lower weight classes to step in the ring with Tank. Tank looks amazing, but that’s just a facade. I’ll say it right now: I think Tank is a good fighter. I don’t know how great he is, but judging by his fights, this guy looks like a fraud.

Put him in the ring with someone who can match his punches. Someone with the same high boxing IQ as he has. They say they don’t have an opponent for Gervonta? You have an opponent in your own camp. His name is De Los Santos. We wouldn’t mind, and the fans wouldn’t mind paying for a fight with De Los Santos.

They’re hiding something; I don’t know what it is. Maybe they’re afraid of De Los Santos’s power? Or the fact that he’s a southpaw? Tank has talked a lot about Shakur’s boring performance against Edwin, but he himself doesn’t want to step in the ring and face De Los Santos. That’s the fight everyone wants to see.

Gervonta Davis’s next fight is scheduled for December 14 against WBA super lightweight champion Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs).
