Bradley: «Fury Had All the Advantages and Usyk Overcame Them»

Former world champion and boxing commentator Timothy Bradley commented on the victory of the undisputed heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) over Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

«I definitely put Usyk in the number one spot. What he was asked to do that night was a fantastic performance. You had Tyson Fury with all the advantages – experience in the heavyweight division, weight, reach. And Usyk was able to overcome all of that. It was dedication to the fight plan, his commitment to his body, the fact that he fights at a high pace. Fury couldn't keep up.

Usyk found that punch, went toe-to-toe with Tyson Fury, caught him in a certain sequence of actions, and hurt him in the 9th round. Usyk hit this guy 20 times without an answer.

Everyone criticizes the referee for the knockdown episode, but if he had called it a bit earlier, Fury would have had even more time to recover. But Usyk hit him 20 times without an answer!

I love Terence Crawford, but he’s been too inactive lately. I love Inoue. But to become undisputed in cruiserweight, then move up to heavyweight and beat a guy who had never been defeated, in the form of Tyson Fury – that’s incredible,» said Bradley.

The fight between Usyk and Fury lasted all 12 rounds and ended with a split decision victory for the Ukrainian. Oleksandr Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in a rematch.
