A high-profile meeting of boxing’s top power brokers took place on Monday in Las Vegas, USA, where discussions centered around a groundbreaking new boxing league, reports ESPN.
Among the key figures present were Top Rank CEO Bob Arum and WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman. The meeting also included Turki Alalshikh, head of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, and UFC President Dana White—two major players rumored to be leading the charge for a major restructuring of professional boxing.
According to The New York Times, TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of UFC and WWE, is planning to launch a UFC-style boxing league later this year. While no formal announcement has been made, White has frequently hinted at his long-anticipated move into the boxing business over the past few months.
This past weekend, Turki Alalshikh shared a photo with Dana White, teasing what he described as “big surprises that will be massive, unique, and revolutionary”.
