Yesterday, March 18th, it was announced that the bout for the WBO world championship title in the light middleweight division (up to 69.8 kg) between Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) and Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) was canceled due to an injury to the American fighter.
Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs), who was scheduled to fight Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (23-1, 23 KOs) in the undercard for the vacant WBC light middleweight title, will replace him.
Serhii commented on the canceled fight on his social networks.
"I told you it was going to be dramatic. Jokes aside, I'm ready to fight anyone. See you on March 30th. Viva Las Vegas," Serhii wrote.
Instead of Fundora, Bohachuk will face American Bryan Mendoza (22-3, 16 KOs) for the "interim" WBC title on March 30th in Las Vegas, USA. The vacant WBC title, as well as the WBO championship, will now be contested between Fundora and Tszyu.
